2017 Elevator Violation Status – Final Update 11/20/2018

Update 11/20/2018 - All elevator certificates are current and up to date nearly 16 months late and 200.00 in late fees.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 11/7/2018:  I called the state today to inquire on our certificates, we paid the fees in September and the elevators all have a passing inspection from August.  The delay is we owe a 50.00 late fee for each elevator, I have asked Bill to send this payment out this week.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 8/22/2018 Email from Board President: Good evening Board Members, spoke to Bill today and he called Atis to make sure they sent the inspections to the State and also called Delaware to make sure they also received the notice, they did, the State should be sending the license renewals within a few days, will update you as soon as the Mgmt. Company has them.  This whole thing has been crazy due to the moderation of the elevators to changing elevator companies to all of it in between but now it is getting resolved so conversation over.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 8/17/2018 - Email from Board President Nancy, Nancy states that ATIS sent Classic / Delaware the paperwork in May and they did not follow through. Nancy stated she visited Delaware Elevator to inform them of what was going on, they came out and corrected the issues and the ATIS inspector  was on property today and passed all  the elevators, we will nowt pay the fee and get our 2019 certificates.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update  8/10/02018 - I emailed our elevator inspector (ATIS) to inquire if our elevators have had a passing inspection since our conversation on May 2, 2018, she replied they have not been contacted for a re-inspection.  I then emailed board President Nancy to inquire if we still use this company to inspect our elevators,  she replied that Bill states we are using this company and according to the "elevator people" they corrected the issues at the time of inspection and according to the management company all of their elevator inspections are running late, we are currently waiting on the state

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 8/2/2018 (Board Meeting) - Informed by Bill that the state is behind on issuing the licenses.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 8/1/2018 Delaware Elevator was on property, I asked the representative (Don) what the status was on getting our elevators back into compliance and properly licensed,  he stated he was with the inspector about a month ago and all was good with the inspections.  As of this date the elevators have been in violation and not properly licensed for 1 year.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 5/7/2018 - Nancy informed me the issue was with the inspectors company and not Classic / Delaware

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 5/2/2018 - I visited ATIS Elevator Inspections, they stated the elevators were inspected on 5/1/2018, all 4 elevators failed inspection.  The representative with ATIS Elevator stated the hold up was with coordinating the inspection with our elevator company (Classic / Delaware).

I brought a copy of the failed inspection reports to Progressive Management and gave them to Bill for the appropriate action to be taken.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 4/8/2018 - Nancy informed the board that the elevator licenses have been paid and awaiting inspections, Nancy stated the company that sets the inspections  or the state dropped the ball but that it has been taken care of so no need to discuss at  the upcoming board meeting

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 4/4/2018 - Nancy made me aware that we no longer have Classic Elevator they were replaced by Delaware Elevator, she stated that Bill is aware of the licenses and has been in contact with the state.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 3/21/2018 - I emailed Classic Elevator and got a call from Don Cassell, he stated  the state is very behind on the inspections and it would be done soon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dolly Bay elevators that were recently refurbished at considerable expense are currently not properly licensed, the licenses have expired on 8/1/2017.  I was curious how long this would go on before being corrected.  On October 24, 2017 I emailed the board President Nancy Guenther she replied back that she will follow up and find out- never heard anything from her again regarding the elevators. I mentioned it to Bill our manager at the Annual Meeting on January 11, 2018, he seemed surprised and mentioned he had given the licenses to Radar the maintenance person to put in the elevators - he said he would check on it.  I emailed Bill on February 19 again inquiring on the elevators, he replied he would get with the state to have certificates reissued. The issues with the certificates was not from lack of paying the fee it was from failed inspections.
